Connecting the dots of DC fabulous

DC fashion has begun to finally take a tun in the fab direction. On last week I had the pleasure of attending two different events. The DC Faab Bloggers meetup at Floriana Restaurant in Dupont Circle, and KAS fashion networking event. For those who think that fashion in DC is limited to black, grey, and navy suits and politics then you must not have had the pleasure of interacting with the DC areas fashion finest.

The DC Faab Bloggers consist of a group of fabulous individuals who come together monthly to discuss fashion and culture while sipping cocktails. The group founded by Lacey of A Lacey perspective and Liz of Something to smile about. Are quickly changing the face of fashion in DC. If you ever have a chance to attend one of these events. I suggest going as you are quickly able to from connections and fashionable bonds over shoes, where to find the best accessory, and perhaps your next DC fashion event invite.

On Wednesday night myself and Ayanna Scott of Scott&Co and of blog Fashion Parliament attended Kenneth Flanagan designer and owner of House of KAS located in the constantly growing fashion area of National Harbor, MD. KAS hosts monthly networking events for fashion professionals looking to meet others who share the same passion of creativity, style, and most importantly the desire to succeed. The fashion community will embrace those that share a passion for their craft, whether it be designing, modeling, writing, styling, etc.

Getting in to the scene is not the hard part….its remaining relevant or “in style” that is. As my fashion muse Chanel once said “don’t spend time beating on a wall hoping to transform it into a door.”Dreaming about a career in fashion is one thing, but pursuing it against all odds…is another.

In love and fabulosity,

Ms. Fabulosity
